H + J {Model Engagements}

Wow, where do I start with this post? Well, I noticed as I was editing this session that my style changed a tad. I am really loving candid photography and the ‘un-posed’ shots. However, there are times where I have to have those posed shots. Case in point- this session. If this were any other couple, or location…I probably wouldn’t have had them pose so seriously/romantically.I think for some clients it works, and for some it doesn’t. Who says I cant be both a candid and posed portrait photographer? I love to capture emotion and moments, yet I love to capture that look that sometimes you can only get with shots like these. I have been thinking about this for a while, so I wanted to lay it out there just in case you were wondering why I change up my photographic style sometimes.

I took these photos when I was in Utah visiting my pal Jessica, and decided to meet up with this sweet couple. I wanted to do a mock engagement session with a fabulous couple (even though they are already married), and they couldn’t have been better. They were easy to work with, and did exactly what I needed them to. I could definitely tell these two are crazy about each other!  After doing this session, I am even more in love with engagements. I have so many great ideas for future engagements…!
