Bridals in Utah

Bridals usually happen before the wedding day right? Not these! Jessica, a great friend and photographer from Utah has been married for 9 years…um yes, she STILL can fit into her wedding dress and look this amazing! I have been in Utah for the Nichole Van workshop (I will blog about it soon). Jessica and I signed up together and had a fabulous time! So, before I left Utah, I wanted to get some sessions in…including some pictures of Jessica. She never had these kinds of pictures done when she was married, so it was a lot of fun for her. We brought her sweet girls with us and headed out to an empty field. I wanted to try out some things and do some off camera flash as well. I just love Utah’s landscape and colors. I love brown fields with blue mountains and sunsets that I can actually see set at the horizon!   At the end of the session, we were packing up and about to jump in the car and head off, I noticed the dirt road and HAD to get some last minute shots. The sun had already gone down and it was getting dark pretty fast. Good thing my D700 is an ISO machine and let me get the shots I wanted! I used a few textures as well that I purchased from Nichole Van. I am not a big texture person, but I think it can turn a picture into art if used the right way. Enjoy the pictures and let Jess know what you think!:)

Nichole Van’s Texture above– it also adds some warmth.

Right as the sun was going down…

The sun has completely gone down!

Using another Nichole Van texture- again, this texture adds a vintage warmness to the photo. (My favorite photo btw!)

Playing with off camera flash!

Jessica - Those are absolutely gorgeous! I live in Utah and I’d have to agree, love the landscape here. I’ve also lived in Bellingham WA (just north of Seattle, but you probably know that) and the scenery up there is die for too :)

Michelle Kane - You’re so lucky to have done this and met up with such a lovely person as Jessica C. You did a fantastic job photographing her. The texture ones are my favorite, as I really like the warmth they add to the image, as delicate as they might be.
